117- 45kms

I spent the day today learning about the farm and Guatemala from one of the nicest guys I have met in all my days, he is also the owner of the farm, Hugo is a 38 year old Guatemalan born dude with Italian parents, he was born on the farm before moving to the City when the civil war erupted in the early 80's. He still remembers hearing machine gun fire in the hills surrounding his home.

He has played 9 games of soccer for his country!! When he was 17. Scored 6 goals. His twenties saw him give Ito the temptation of fame and substance before moving back to his family farm to start over.

He and his beautiful wife now live and quiet life, with animals all around them and one of the most successful cheese manufacturing business in the country.

He and I spoke about lots of things! We spoke about the importance of how you feel in the heart and the importance of living in the day. We walked around the farm and he taught me about the daily comings and goings of what happens on a cheese farm.

In recent years I have learnt to listen to people and I have learnt how to learn from those words. Hugo is now a person I will add to that list of "contributors" in making the person I want to be.

Easily one of my favourite days of my run! Such an amazing experience.
