Day 100 - 72kms

Today started well, I was at the boarder before I knew it and even the boarder went well, I was through customs in no time.

So I was finally in Guatemala, the promised land of Central America.

I was immediately impressed, the green hills that I ran though we're beautiful and the food was half the price of Belize.

Today was easily the the biggest day of running I have done since starting this trip. 72kms of nice flat running into the guys of the Peten region of Guatemala. I ran so well in fact, that I'm only 33kms for next spot I was to see called Flores. Although I Flores is a pretty town, it is popular because it is the point of which most tour companies are based to go and see the Tikal Ruins.

Tonight I stayed at a town on a lake called El Remate, I am in a tree house for $7 dollars. It has a beautiful view and no electricity. Couldn't be happier.

Tomorrow I will get running at a reasonable hour and hopefully get the afternoon to hang out in Flores before seeing Tikal the day after.

Very proud of my efforts today. It was a big one.
