Day 63 - 37kms

I left San Cristobal today in the highest of spirits. I knew that this next few days would be special, a chance to drill into some amazing surroundings and enjoy my running.

I do now feel fit, the legs feel strong, lungs are solid at anything around a 6 or 7 minute kilometre and the organs are now better off after the heat running I did for the 3 week stretch along the coast.

Today did not let down as far as views are concerned, amazing highlands environment, everything is perfectly green and when the clouds clear you can see forever. Such a clean, crisp environment.

I ran for 15kms before until I came across are shop selling all sorts of things, it was like a mini-mart. It was actually run by the military and attached to the military base I had been running along side for a couple of kms. It had everything from Apple juice to balaclavas and mops. I'm guessing it was mainly for the soldiers to buy there supply's.

I was aiming today for a mountain town called Huititan. I had heard that there may be a place to stay there.

After 37km of some of the best running I had every done, I reached the town. Not before I car slowed down next to me and told me that they had seen me 3 weeks ago running through Huatulco!! They drove off cheers with their arms out the window. So cool!!

I was emotional today, I cried a bit, maybe it is because I am finally realising I living my dream out. I just loved today so much.

After I was to sent to 3 or 4 different places to find a bed, I found one. It was a room in a house with a bathroom. Nothing fancy but just perfect for what I need.

Imam though this part of the country is beautiful, it is a hotspot for Rebels and I need to make sure I am safe at night. Daytime is fine, but at night I need to be behind a locked door.
