Had a great two days resting in Acapulco, although it is clear that the glory days for Acapulcos tourism are well and truly over, it still has a nice vibe. I stayed away from the clubs and nightlife in the original and oldest part of town which is still the centre as far as local activity is concerned.
I swam and rested. Watched a couple games of soccer on ESPN.
Hotel was brilliant. $25 and I had a view of the harbour, wifi, a desk, AC and cable TV. It served as a perfect place to get some blogging done and some map work for the next leg of my run "the Pacific coast".
I like how the food has been slightly changing in different parts of the country, as well as the style of service, on the coast it is set menu. Well, you pick your main and it comes with bread, soup and a couple other things. The tortillas on the coast are larger and thicker. Still great!!
Knee is still sore in the mornings, it gets looser after some stretches and a few kms.
Very excited about the next legs.
