Today I rested, it was a day that I used well. Did things like sort out my laptop lack of ability to charge, searched for an external hard drive, laundry and spoke to loved ones.
Couple of things worth mentioning; it's amazing how much speaking to family can boost your moral. I few years ago I did not speak to my family as much as a maybe should have, I was loving out of hope and for whatever reason had a point to prove that I was independent and could do it without them, wrong!! Haha.
I now put my family over everything, everyone should, it si tough for me to put into words the importance of having family on my life, not only direct family but extended family as well. I now make a point of getting every family function when possible. I have to have a damn good excuse not to be there.
My family is split up, my mum, my brother and myself in Sydney, dad is in Bali and my twin brother is in NYC. Being split us sure does make us appreciate each other more.
I have learnt a lot from my family over the last 3 years, there is a lot of them in me. Speaking to them and their offers of encouragement means the most to me naturally.
The second moral booster of the day was getting afresh clothes back from laundry, although when I went to pick them up the lady informed me that because of the storm that came through in the arvo, all of the clothes were bundled together in a rush to keep them from getting wet. So we went through every item with her holding them up and me saying yes or no.
Went to the beach in the afternoon, there were thick clouds that meant I wasn't to concerned about going I the sun. Usually on days off I will try to stay out of sun because of the a lot of sun I get when I am out running.
Had some tacos and a street burger for dinner, packed my bag perfectly for the start of another 4 day stretch to Salina Cruz.
Watched a game of soccer from the rooftop of my hostel. Particularly aggressive defenders the Mexician.....
Really glad I got some jobs done today, it was still relaxed but got some things done that had been on my mind for a while.
My body seems to be in good condition. It has adapted to the load I require of it on a daily basis. The left knee still stiffens up a little more than the right after the days run but seems to be 100% again by the next morning.
Looking forward to good kms coming up. Running less more often is the way to go!!!
